Sterilising Film, Blue Nylon

Autoclavable nylon film is used for sterilising and storing many types of surgical equipment, including instruments, dressings and linen. Its permeability to steam has been demonstrated by sterility tests on standard cultures, spore discs and chemical indicators placed in sealed packets of the film, and its subsequent bacterial contamination has been tested both by long term storage and under various adverse conditions and in broth cultures for 24 hours. In all cases, the contents of the packets were shown to have maintained sterility.
