PetScreen Cream

PetScreen Cream is a broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen formulated to help protect exposed areas of animals’ skin from UVA and UVB radiation.

Developed specifically as an alternative for animals sensitive to the sound of spray application, the cream provides a practical option for targeted application. Its moisturising and conditioning formulation, enriched with vitamin E, helps maintain the skin’s natural moisture.

Sun exposure and skin health
Prolonged ultraviolet exposure can cause solar skin damage in susceptible animals, particularly where skin is lightly pigmented or unpigmented and sparsely covered by hair.

In cats, chronic sun exposure is an established risk factor for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, particularly on poorly pigmented areas of the face and ear tips. In dogs, sun-associated lesions may develop on exposed, poorly pigmented skin, including the ventral abdomen.

Sun protection should form part of a broader management approach that includes restricting direct sun exposure and providing shade. Sunscreen use does not replace veterinary assessment of persistent or suspicious skin lesions.

Composition
Contains the sunscreen agents butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, octocrylene and ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate.

The formulation also contains vitamin E, petrolatum, lanolin and liquid paraffin to support its moisturising and conditioning properties.
