Equibalance

A balanced electrolyte replacement for horses. EQUIBALANCE has an optimum mineral ratio that matches and
replaces the electrolytes lost during strenuous exercise or hard work.

BALANCED
Sweat loss in horses varies according to the degree of exercise, weight and conditions. Horses performing light exercise in moderate
environmental conditions can lose approximately 5 litres of sweat per hour of exercise (double that for hot conditions). Sweat fluid losses of 25-40 litres can be expected in horses participating in endurance races.

Horse sweat contains many things besides water. Sodium and Chloride ions are the principal electrolytes present in equine sweat. A
significant but lower amount of Potassium (the chief intracellular electrolyte) is also present. Calcium and Magnesium are present as they are vital for normal nerve and muscle function.

OPTIMUM MINERAL RATIO
Electrolyte supplementation should provide sodium and chloride in roughly equal proportions, while the proportion of potassium should be
one-third to one-half that of sodium. Calcium and Magnesium may be added in small quantities. When such supplementation is deemed
advisable, the amount given should not be excessive. The object should be to provide partial replenishment of the deficits until such time as
complete replacement by voluntary consumption occurs.

EQUIBALANCE not only matches the necessary electrolytes lost during workout, but replaces them in the correct proportion.

COMPOSITION:
Chloride 311 g/kg, Sodium 213 g/kg, Potassium 105 g/kg, Calcium 10 g/kg, Sulphur 6,5 g/kg, Magnesium 4,9 g/kg, Glucose 106 g/kg.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
30 – 120 g (depending on the intensity of exercise, weight of horse, temperature, humidity) daily mixed into feed or drinking water. One level
measure is equivalent to 15 g. Give the horse enough water to drink and do not restrict access to clean water. Electrolytes should be given
during exercise, and especially shortly thereafter.
